Description
Receiving NovaStar MRV432 Receiving Card, is a versatile and high-performance receiving card designed for professional LED display systems. It serves as a critical interface between LED controllers and display modules, delivering advanced image processing, robust reliability, and comprehensive monitoring features to enhance visual quality and simplify maintenance.
A key strength of the MRV432 lies in its support for pixel-level brightness and chroma calibration, which effectively eliminates luminance and color inconsistencies across the screen, ensuring exceptional uniformity. Additional image-enhancement capabilities include fast bright/dark line correction, multi-batch adjustment (to compensate for variations between production batches), RGB-independent Gamma tuning, 3D display support (with compatible controllers), and 90°-increment screen rotation (0°, 90°, 180°, or 270°).
The card communicates with LED panels via eight HUB320 interfaces, supporting either 32 groups of parallel RGB data or 64 groups of serial data, offering flexibility for various panel architectures. Its maximum loading capacity depends on the driver IC type:
- 512 × 512 @ 60 Hz for PWM-type driver ICs
- 512 × 384 @ 60 Hz for general-purpose driver ICs
Designed for stability in demanding environments, the MRV432 features hardware compliant with EMC Class A standards and carries RoHS certification.
To improve system reliability, the MRV432 incorporates multiple redundancy and recovery mechanisms:
- Loop-back backup: maintains display functionality even if one network link fails
- Dual firmware storage: prevents lock-up during failed updates
- Dual configuration backup: stores settings in both application and factory zones for easy restoration
For maintenance and diagnostics, the card offers rich monitoring tools:
- Real-time temperature and voltage monitoring
- Box-mounted LCD display support (via 5-pin connector) showing temperature, voltage, and runtime statistics
- Error packet detection to identify communication issues
- Mapping 1.0 for visual identification of card position and cabling
- Customizable standby screens for power-on, signal loss, or network disconnection states
- Firmware and configuration parameter readback for backup and troubleshooting
User interaction is simplified with a self-test button: when disconnected from the controller, double-pressing cycles through built-in test patterns.
The MRV432 operates on a DC input voltage of 3.8 V to 5.5 V, with a typical current draw of 0.5 A and power consumption of 2.5 W. It functions reliably in ambient temperatures from –20°C to +70°C and humidity levels of 10%–90% RH (non-condensing). Storage temperature range is extended to –40°C to +85°C.
Mechanically, the board measures 146.0 mm × 91.5 mm × 19.3 mm (total thickness including components). Each unit is packaged in an individual blister tray, with 100 cards per shipping box (625 × 180 × 470 mm).
Status is indicated via dual LEDs:
- Red power LED: solid ON = normal power
- Green running LED: various flash patterns indicate operational states—such as normal operation (1 Hz flash), no video source (3 flashes per 0.5s), Ethernet fault (1 flash every 3s), or ring redundancy activation (8 flashes per 0.5s)
In summary, the MRV432 Receiving Card combines advanced image correction, enterprise-grade reliability, and intelligent diagnostics in a compact, field-proven design—making it an excellent choice for high-quality, maintainable LED display installations across commercial, rental, and fixed applications.
